Christmas 2023

Christmas 2023…. My daughter Aradhana Dalmia set up this blog for me as part of my Christmas present and what a lovely surprise. I had wanted to set up a blog for the longest time but being slightly tech savvy warped I could never figure out where to start… I had resigned myself to forget my idea but dear Aradhana had other plans!!! So Christmas has always been my happy time… I love the whole build up of writing to Santa with my grandchildren… keeping up the charade of Santa for so long. Now 4 of them know who Santa is, 1 who is just three years old still believes that Santa comes and my youngest is just a one year old so she doesn’t know any better just yet!!! I start racking my brains from 6 months before Christmas trying to figure out what to get for my children… there are a number of givens like clothes, toiletries, pyjamas for the girls and t shirts, socks and colognes for the boys but I like to get something special each year for all of them. Also though my grandkids give their lists they always look forward to the extra surprises that they know will come. So this is quite a mammoth task and I enjoy every minute of it!!! Come Christmas Day it is a tradition that everyone collect at home and after the mandatory photographs they all pounce and within ten minutes there is a mountain of used wrapping paper covering the floor and excited smiles all around!!! Somewhere along the way my girls decided that they had to get Santa presents too so now I am also just thoroughly spoilt too. Merry Christmas everyone!!!
