Movie Review….Do aur Do Pyar

This film stars Vidya Balan playing Kavya who is married to Anirudh played by Pratik Gandhi. Ileana D’Cruz and Sendhil are the two love interests of Kavi and Ani. So Kavi and Ani fall in love much to the disgust of her strict South Indian family and elope and get married and move to Mumbai. So things carry on in married life and they gradually move apart from each other and end up with very little interaction between them other than what temperature they should set the air conditioning to who should buy the garbage bags!!! They then both find love interests outside their marriage and things go on. Now I don’t want to tell you too much other than it is a good romantic comedy well acted by all 4 actors and keeps you laughing throughout. Some of the scenes between Balan and Gandhi are quite hilarious… one that comes to mind is where she tells him she hates his ‘begun posto’ and he tells her he hates all her ‘stainless steel’ utensils!!! The first half is definitely better than the second which seems to lose some steam along the way. All in all I think it’s worth a watch especially considering this heatwave… it’s a nice way to spend an afternoon in a chilled theatre with a tub of popcorn!!!
