Film Review….Srikanth

This film is a biopic of Srikanth Bolla who is born in a small village in Andhra Pradesh and is found to be blind at birth. The villagers suggest that his parents kill him straight away as he will have no life and be a burden to them as he grows up. Fortunately the parents can not make themselves do this and the film shows how Srikanth overcomes all his struggles to finish school, take the education system to court to allow him to take science in college and then become the first visually impaired Indian to attend MIT in America. He then flourishes and for the sake of not giving away any more spoilers I will leave it at that. All I can say is that it is a fantastic film… very poignant and with some comedy thrown in. Rajkummar Rao acts brilliantly and is well supported by the rest of the cast. It shows that with enough determination and resilience everyone can fulfill their

hopes and dreams.

I had not really heard about this film so I don’t think it was publicised very well and it was only because my sister saw it that I checked the trailer and realised that it seemed good. And how glad I was that I did… I thoroughly enjoyed it and I am sure you will too so go watch it… it’s definitely worth your while.
