Love them!!!

I would like to think that I am quite an organised person and my go to in this regard are my lists. Now whether this is due to my advancing years or what, I don’t know but I find that I really need to write things down to remember anything. Mind you, I have been making these lists for quite a while so I suppose I can’t put everything down to ageing. I remember that when my son got engaged I used to have a hundred and one things going round in my head so I would always keep a pad and a pen by my bedside and invariably I would get up in the middle of the night to jot something or the other down.

Nowadays of course my I phone has taken over the actual pen and paper… it’s so much easier to write things down in your notes and delete them as and when required. I always have a few ongoing lists in my notes… like my errands, my groceries, any important calls or work that needs to be done etc. I get great pleasure and satisfaction in ticking off items on my list so much so that if I do anything that is not there I proceed to add it just so that I can tick it…. crazy I know but one of my quirks.

I am going to visit my sister in Manchester next week so of course I found my last holiday clothes list and adjusted it slightly according to the climate. I pulled out my clothes last week and they are all lying on the bed in the spare room ready to be ironed and folded. It makes life so easy when you have some reference to follow… try it. Then I have my list of what I need to buy for Manchester and food that needs to be ordered or made. Then of course I have another list of things I need to buy during my holiday… the lists are endless!! However I think these all add up to my excitement of going on a holiday.. the more ticks I have it means the closer I am to leaving.

Vinay still believes in the old fashioned way and writes everything down on scraps of paper which he then stuffs into his shirt pocket… hence the reason he never wears a shirt which doesn’t have a pocket. I have bought shirts so many times without checking for this only for them to be discarded. It is actually quite difficult nowadays finding shirts with pockets… it is obviously not fashionable but such is life… I suppose we all have our little eccentricities! Anyway, whatever is written on his list gets done so once I did try writing ‘buy gift for wife’ but sadly that didn’t work!! However, perseverance is my middle name so I shall try and slip it in again and see if it works!!

Brings a smile Suni. We’re all in the same boat. Have a nice trip to Manchester. Don’t forget to put down your list on your phone. I forget a lot nowadays. Love to Hemu. Take care💖

I agree the only way to get things done is to jot them on a list and the feeling of ticking them all off is great. Enjoyed reading this post thanks.
