Saiyaara… We went to see like the third film in the week and in fact, more than me, it’s Vinay who has suddenly taken a liking to films especially my writing my reviews. I think a lot of people mention them to him (since he has no idea about FB or Insta!!!) and he starts nudging me in the interval to begin writing!! So we go and me still being the English me has read the title and think it’s a different spelling of the name Sara!!! I find out differently in the first scene itself that Saiyaara actually means wandering planet or something to that effect… but then to my defence even Vinay didn’t know that so I didn’t feel so stupid!
I was delighted to find that this was a clean out romantic film with a nice story and extremely well acted by the two newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. Both played their roles to perfection and some of the songs had beautiful lyrics. I guessed the direction the story would take at the beginning which is probably a sign for me to watch less films but it’s ok! I enjoyed it but I am a hopeless romantic at heart so don’t go expecting any fights or stunt scenes. Just go… eat your popcorn and watch the story unfold.
