Devil Wears Prada 2, Michael, Dadi ki Shaadi…. Movie Bonanza!!!

I actually saw The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Micheal last weekend and Dadi KI Shaadi today but I was a little busy during the week so sorry but you have a three in one together.

So I absolutely loved Devil wears Prada and was most excited when the sequel came. Although I enjoyed the second film I think the first was better. Miranda Priestly played so brilliantly by Meryl Streep was fantastic in both. I love the way she conveys words just by raising an eyebrow or just dismisses people with a curt ‘go’. However I think her role in the first film was better or maybe she just set the bar too high. As for Anne Hathaway she transforms from a young inexperienced reporter in the first to a well seasoned, award winning persona in the second. She too is very lovable and I found that I was rooting for her to get Miranda’s approvement.

Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci slip really well into their supporting roles. Overall it’s worth going just to see the outfits worn by all the stars… they are fabulous. A good film definitely worth a watch!

We went to see Michael on Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Micheal Jackson’s nephew Jaffar Jackson plays his role absolutely brilliantly and his dancing and body movements mimic Michael so well you think it is him dancing. The songs were extremely nostalgic and took me back years to when he was such an iconic figure in the music world. The film really showed the pressures he faced from his own father to reach the top and highlighted his loneliness during the journey. Whilst it didn’t go into some of the more controversial times in his career the film did end with the line ‘to be continued’ so I don’t know if there will be a sequel but I rather hope there won’t be. I enjoyed his music and songs so much my feet were tapping from start to finish and I had a smile on my face so I would rather just remember him like this. If you haven’t seen it then I would definitely recommend it.

Now to my latest watch which was ‘Dadi Ki Shaadi’ with Neetu Kapoor. I thought this would be a nice lighthearted film so we went but in my opinion it was rather stupid and a waste of time! However I must say that Neetu Kapoor looks very good for her age but I don’t think she really got much of a chance to show her acting skills in this film… she just seemed to be nodding her head most of the time. The story was extremely predictable and you really don’t need to go to the cinema hall to see it… wait till it comes on OTT and skim through it at home!

Well that was quite a haul of films and I think I will skip going to the theatre for a few weeks… unless of course something good is released in which case o will just have to go… after all a lot of people are waiting for my reviews… or so I am told!!!
